Enjoying the Machuca River:
Access the river via the path beside the pool (opposite side of the yoga
shala). Follow the trail until you see stairs on the right — this leads
directly to the river. Exploring with neighbors is encouraged.

Most residents begin on a tourist visa while exploring longer-term residency options that fit their situation.
Expect warm temperatures year-round, a lush green rainy season, and abundant wildlife. Living close to nature means embracing rain, insects, and changing conditions as part of the experience. The rainy season typically runs from May to November and brings vibrant growth along with occasional road or power disruptions. Preparation, good design, and flexibility make living with the seasons both manageable and deeply rewarding.

Residents are encouraged to participate in community activities while respecting personal boundaries and diverse lifestyles. Community decisions are approached collaboratively, with an emphasis on dialogue and transparency. Autonomy, consent, and respect remain central to how the village functions.
Eco village life often involves alternative systems such as rainwater collection, composting, and renewable energy. Awareness and care help ensure these systems remain resilient and sustainable. Internet connectivity supports modern communication needs, including remote work, though living in a rural environment requires patience and adaptability during occasional outages or maintenance.
Costa Rica offers excellent healthcare, both public and private. At LEV, wellbeing is also supported through connection to nature, community support, and conscious daily practices. Residents may access Costa Rica’s public healthcare system (Caja) once legally enrolled, while private clinics and hospitals are widely used for faster access and are available within regional distance of LEV.
Stewardship of the land is central to life at LEV. This includes mindful water use, waste reduction, respect for wildlife, and participation in regenerative land practices.
